Actions in combat

  • During each turn, there are three actions you get to take – one of each:
    • Standard Action (or attack action)
      • Basic melee or ranged attacks
      • Most of your powers are Standard Actions, since most of them are attacks
      • Use your second wind (that’s one of those cards you have)
      • ‘Charge’ – that’s where you take your move, then attack. You get a +1 to the attack roll, too
      • Grab hold of an enemy and wrestle them
        • Or, make an extra Move or Minor action
    • Move Actions
      • You can move a number of squares up to your speed
      • You can move diagonally, too
      • Run your Speed +2, but grant bad guys a +2 to attacks against you this turn
        • Don’t forget, if you move or run out of a square where an enemy can reach you, they get a free attack on you
      • Or, play it safe and shift; only move one square, but don’t open yourself up to free attacks against you
      • Stand up, if you are knocked down
      • Try and break free, if someone or something is grabbing you
        • Or, take an extra Minor action
    • Minor Actions
